19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after that period of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour title, took control to push for a decider.
The opponent saved four initial opportunities in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
